Hello, I have Parallels 9, Mavericks and Win7. I have a Win7 Bootcamp partition that I access under Parallels and a second Win7 virtual machine. I decreased my Bootcamp partition size using Camptune and now my Win7 Bootcamp VM won't start, coming up with the error message 'Configuration of this Boot Camp virtual machine doesn't match that of the real Boot Camp partition.'. My second Win7 VM boots fine and booting into native Windows (without Parallels) my Bootcamp partition works fine. So it seems to be specifically the configuration of the Bootcamp VM. How do I fix this? Thanks.
Argh. That's annoying. They should create a tool or utility that re-writes the relevant bit of info that's causing the problem. I have to assume it's Parallel's fault, because Windows itself boots fine. I guess I'll have to muck about jumping through hoops again with Windows Activation too.
Annoying? It's rather quick. The problem isn't Parallels, is likely Camptune that didn't synch the partitions properly. And no, it doesn't affect activation because the hardware is the same. You create a new VM and point it to the existing partition, that's all I'm saying. Not to install Windows again!
Adding a new VM I can get to that but I want to "Add Existing". When I select "Add Existing", it pulls up a window to select a file. I am not sure what file to select. Help?
And you want to 'Add Existing' because you already have a VM elsewhere or you want to create a new one using an existing Bootcamp partition? You initially said: "Can someone point me to the documentation of how to create a new VM?". I'm not really understanding what you are trying to do here.
