    Hi,

I am using Parallels build 3214. I plan to upgrade to leopard. Is my version of parallels compatible with leopard?

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Murali

    Stacey,
do you mean 'shortly' after the release?

If so, it suggests that the current build will not support Leopard. And he is not even using the current build.

My suspicion is that it will not support Leopard.

And, I take that back, Andrew @ Parallels said, in another thread, that it will be supported on V. 2.5.

    Hello,

you are right. Sorry for my misprint.

I think you already know what the issue is. It's like Andrew said. We will wait for Leopard release and if necessary will make some changes in both versions of Parallels Desktop.

    Best regards,
    Stacey

    What?

I thought PD 3.0 already works on Leopard! Does this mean that Parallels will stop working once I install Leopard? Not funny.

And what do you mean, you "will wait for Leopard release"? Didn't you have developer seeds? What's going on here?

    Leauki,
It already works in experimental mode.
Sure, they have access to developer seeds, but with software as deep as this, a minor change might buck the program. Parallels is being wise for not over-promising, I thought this is what everyone wanted.

If you install Leopard in a production environment the day it is released, and then complain about incompatibilities; I sure as heck hope you are not doing any work relating to computers for anyone else.

Just installed Leopard on my Macbook. I'm on Build 3214 and XP is opening just fine. So far have tested Dreamweaver, MS Office apps and Quickbooks and they all work fine.
    Whew.

I am in the middle of teaching a class, running Ver 2.5 and thinking of Leopard
    1. Does anybody know if this works?
    2. Has anybody upgraded from 2.5 to 2.5.3214 and gotten it to work including
    the tools install

Don't want to crash the computer

    Thanks for your reply

I upgraded from 3188 to 3212 to 3214 with no problems. I think that the vast majority of those who use or have used 3214 upgraded from 3212.

If you are having problems upgrading you should start another thread and give your particulars--someone is bound to try to help.

P.S. Why the rush to upgrade to Leopard, particularly if you have concerns?

That is not my experience at all. I have been trying to install PD 2.5 on a brand new computer with Leopard for the last 2 1/2 hours, ... no success!

And what is the projected time frame for "shortly after it's release". It seems that you are back to beta testing.

And why is this? I assume, that your development team has had ample access to the pre release builds of Leopard. Given the numerous issues PD now seems to have under Leopard, according to many posters here, I have become very hesitant to try and use it again. It seems, that even after a successful install a meriad of issues await me.

It is such a shame, since it worked so beautifully under Tiger. Unfortunately this all means, that I cannot chuck my Windows box, because I depend on some of those programs, and I can't use PD.

Why can't you chuck your Window box? Does your firm have a Leopard only policy? Unless your an Apple store, I don't know of one silly enough to have such a policy. The first update only just came out.
