Somewhere in the Parallels 6 upgrades my keyboard shortcuts mapping Cmd+Q to Alt+F4 and Cmd+W to Ctrl+F4 got broken. I have "Enable Mac OS X system shortcuts" disabled. For good measure, I disabled any shortcuts that might be interfering in OS X's keyboard preferences and tried recreating the Parallels shortcuts. When I press Cmd+Q, instead of executing Alt+F4 I just get a Q as if I didn't even press the Cmd key. Same for Cmd+W. Anyone have any ideas.
Having this exact same problem - looking forward to any solutions. I did a support chat yesterday in which they advised to turn on "optimize keyboard shortcuts for games" but that did not help...
Hmm. I already have that option set, but I think all it does is increase the frequency at which Parallels checks to see if a modifier key (Ctrl, Alt, etc.) is pressed. If you play games or in my case use Remote Desktop, your modifier keys won't work without this checked. I'm still hunting for a solution. I'll post it if I solve it.
try this I had the same problem with ctrl-Z, and toggling the various configurations options didn't accomplish anything. I tried re-installing Parallels Tools, and now everything works as it should. Hope this helps.
Cool, thanks for posting this, sarookha! Had the same problem since the latest update and re-installing Parallels Tools solved it.
