Basically I can't start a cloned XP virtual machine which is located on a FW drive. When I try, I get the eternal spinning beach ball, and a hosed restart (gets stuck at the initial gray screen). This will only resolve if I unplug the FW drive. The original XP virtual machine located on the hard drive starts and runs fine. I have searched and found one other poster who says he runs a vm (probably not a clone) over a mini-stack firewire drive. So I'm wondering if this is a typical clone problem, or in fact a FW drive issue. [OSX 10.4.9, Parallels Build 3188 (March 7, 2007)]
Do you know if this is a common issue with all clones, or just those located on external drives (FW)? Thanks for the reply.
An issue when an external is attached at the same time as running the VM. I seem to have seen this at least twice before...
