    Dear all

    I have done the upgrade from v3 to v4 which has resolved the F11 and F12 issue where F11 and F12 didn't work in Windows programs.

    But I now have three further problems after the upgrade:
    1) C drive is not visible in the Finder
    2) Copy and Paste doesn't work either within Windows or between Windows and Mac. I get a "cannot open clipboard" message. This is a major problem!!
    3) I have a USB device that I connect after setting Devices, USB, IEEE-1284 Controller, but since the upgrade this device doesn't work.

    Regards
    David

    Hello David,

    It's possible that Parallels Tools was not installed or was installed incorrerctly.
    Please go to Mac Menu -> Virtual Machine, in drop down menu choose Reinstall Parallels Tools and wait until reinstallation process finishes. Reboot your Mac and check performance.

    I had huge problems with v4, so after a month of battling, I reverted to v3.

    Try again

    Perhaps I'm a bit stupid or naive, but last weekend I did the upgrade again.

    I first compressed my Parallels 3, then did the upgrade, then after finding the system incredibly slow, read everything I could find, undid Smart Mount and compressed Parallels 4 and it is working faster than before, and possibly as fast as version 3, but this is not what concerns me the most at the moment.

    What concerns me is that the above three problems still exist:
    1) Every time I start Parallels I have to copy the C drive folder to the Finder;
    2) Even after reinstalling Parallels tools, copy and paste doesn't work;
    3) My USB device which worked perfectly in Parallels 3 doesn't work in Parallels 4.
    4) A forth problem: every now and then a window running in Parallels 4 simply hangs. I need to kill it using Task Manager and then restart it.

    Note that with the second upgrade, I used the latest version of Parallels.

    I would have thought that 10 months after trying the upgrade the first time, that Parallels would have solved this problem.

    Please Parallels. I loved version 3. Please help me to love version 4.

    Note that I tried VMWare in December when I did the first upgrade, but decided to stick with Parallels as for my development is works better, especially across two screens.

    Note that I have to run in Coherence mode. Note that I have optimised the machine for "better performance". I have selected 2 CPU's. I have set the memory in configuration to 2.3GB and the virtual machine's memory to 2GB.

    My machine is a MacPro 2x2Ghz Dual-Core Intel Xeon; 8GB RAM; 500GB Hard Drive (278GB available); Mac OS X 10.5.7.

    Please let me know what I should do?

    Regards
    David
