Recently upgraded from RC1 -> RC2 after having migrated from one MBP to another. Since then I'm having issues launching Cisco VPN client (4.9) - I receive the following error: "Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem. Please make sure that you have at least one network interface that is currently active and has an IP address and start this application again." I can restart the VPN service with: '/System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN restart' and work around it, however, I've also come to realize that if I disble the Parallels-Host Guest Adapter the problem goes away altogether. Curious if there have been any specific network mods in RC2 that are causing this... I never had issues with this in Beta releases or RC1. Thoughts??
Very strange Mine is a brand new install of Parallels over this weekend and a new install of XP Pro and Cisco version 4.8. It is working a treat. I have been on line for upto 4 hours today without a single drop out and connects first time everytime? Don't knwo if this helps???? Robin
Are you sure 4.8 works with an MacBookPro? I thought a minimum of 4.9 was needed as it is the first Universal Binary. . .
Hmmmm Okay, sounds like we are miss communicating. I am using Cisco VPN WITHIN the Parallels VM. I rather gather from your comment you are using Cisco VPN within Mac OSX????? Am I right? Where did you get the Cisco VPN for Mac OSX? My company uses Cisco but my IT department ONLY talks Windows so won't let me have a copy of the OSX version of Cisco. I would love to get a copy (we are licenced they are just bloody minded). Robin
I think we are talking about VPN client 4.9 for OSX. I can confirm the behavior that fr1jolero has seen. Check your PM's. cheers,
Google for vpnclient-darwin-4.9.00.0050-universal-k9.dmg and you'll see some sites that have it for download. I don't know why Cisco don't have an open link for downloading it. It's not like you can use it without a Cisco vpn that you have access to.
The vpnclient is available for download for Linux, OS X and Windows as long as you have download rights on CCO - smartnet or PICA is sufficient. HTH
