    It seems Parallels 4 has changed the hostname of my Mac Pro. It used to be

    "sump"

    but now it is

    "sumpPARALLELS=-YES-"

    Easy to see by opening terminal and doing a "hostname" command.

    Why is this?

    Parallels doesn't change Mac OS hostname
    just check system.log and you will find who and when did that

    Yes it does.

    Parallels changed my host name to the host name of the guest OS.

    I can't 'just change it back' System preferences reports the correct hostname, and terminal reports the wrong one.

    iMac (Sept 2008)
    Core 2 2.8ghz
    4 gig ram

    Parallels 4.0, but its uninstalled. Or at least i ran the uninstaller pkg.

    I want my host name (and by extension, my computer) back. Please help!
