I have installed Windows 98 successfully. I would like to increase the size of my monitor, but Windows 98 will not let me change from 640 by 480. I went in paralles and enabled 800x600. Larger monitors are working in linux.

Here is a link to the windows edit page which I followed.

I think I need to install a new driver, but how?

Windows 98 video driver resolution fix

Without the Parallels video driver for Windows 98 installed, you will be stuck at a resolution of 640x480x16.

Installing Parallels Tools should also automatically install the video driver. If not you may need to manually install the driver. Instructions start to do this start at step 15 here:

Windows 98 may freeze at shutdown with the Parallels video driver installed. Rolling back the driver to "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)" fixes the shutdown issue but leaves you stuck at 640x480x16.

Here is the work-around to get higher resolutions and also fix the shutdown issue.
