iMac intel core 2 duo, OS X 10.8.5, Windows 7 Home, Parallels 7. This computer is at my work and upgrading will be done by an IT person. It is a free standing computer as opposed to being part of the company network. I want to get everything as up to date as possible. The guy has tried twice to upgrade to Windows 7 pro but each time my files disappear. I can only go to Windows 7 pro because that is only as advanced as my company is at the moment. My question is what is the order of steps to get to Parallels 10, Yosemite, and Windows pro so that everything is still on my computer and relatively as easy to find as before.
Hi SalinaEd, We would suggest you to contact Apple Support first in order to upgrade your Mac. Once that is done, you can purchase a full license of Parallels Desktop 10 as purchase of an upgrade is not possible for Parallels Desktop 7. After both these are done. Then you can upgrade your Windows till the latest Windows available.
