I have a device (a uei logging digital thermometer) that i am trying to use with windows on parallels 4.0. i am running w2k. the uei connects ok to w2k and w2k goes into add new hardward mode. it wants to create a comm port. now, it was hanging at this point. i tried it on a real pc and it did the same thing, created the comm port and then was working fine. back to parallels/w2k, at some point i got it to create the comm port but now when i connect the meter, w2k slows down a lot and still the software running on w2k says the meter isnt connected.

the "info" about the uei meter as a usb device is "CDC RS232 Emulation Demo" which is some kind of microcode on the usb that interface rs232 to usb, or something like that. regardless, it works fine on my real windows machine so i am hoping to get it working on parallels.

    any ideas?
