I am having to run a cd-rom that is just for windows for a class that I am taking. Well I got xp loaded after a few failed tries but now the cd does not want to work in my cd drive. If I plug in my external drive it will run fine. When it is in the laptop drive it does not want to read it. Does anyone know what the problem might be? In case youneed to know I am running OS X vers 10.4.9 on a Macbook 2 GHz intel core Duo with 1 GB of ram.

    Thanks for any help.

When you are in Parallels, you should see a drop down menu bar at the top of the screen, saying Parallels just to the right of the Apple logo. Click on Devices. Click on CD/DVD-Rom. Click on "Connect default CD DVD Rom"

The CD Drive should now be attached to your virtual machine. If you want to use the drive in OS/X, you must reverse the procedure and disconnect the drive from your VM....or just shut down your windows machine.
