Hi, I've just installed Parallels 6 on my MacPro with a VM for Windows 7.1. If I suspend or close the VM, my drive drawer will open as normal, but as soon as I activate the VM the drawer will not open within Windows or Snow Leopard 10.6.6. If I put a dvd in the drive before loading the VM, the dvd will run in Windows OK, so its just the eject and close that I need to resolve. Can anyone tell me if there is a workaround that will get this working as it should.
Have you already upgraded to 11992? I had a similar problem with my machine, and this was the first thing Parallels told me to try. If that doesn't work, you might want to try the following: 1. Click on Windows logo==>Control Panel==>Programs==>Programs and features==>Uninstall a program==>Remove Parallels Tools. 2. Restart the Virtual Machine. 3. On the top menu bar click on the option Virtual Machine==>Install Parallels Tools. This second solution worked in my case.
I already had 11992 installed, I tried your workaround which did not work for me, so I did a complete re-install of Parallels, and thankfully this time all is working OK. Thanks for your help.
It's good to know you have it working, but sorry to hear you had to go to such extremes to make it happen.
