I am running an iMac with High Sierra and with Parallels12 plus Windows 10. Firstly, if I upgrade my iMac to Catalina, will Parallels still work and, secondly, will my old Office 2007 suite, which is presumably 32 bit, still work?

i think high sierra was the last version to support P12. honestly can't say though since i haven't used P12 in years.
as far as office, if you mean office running in windows then as long as windows runs it should continue to work. the OS (windows) doesn't have to be 32-bit, just the application that's running the OS (parallels)

Thank you, TonyC2. That is in line with my expectation. I use my iMac very little, being able to do 90+% of my computer work on an iPad but there is one Windows app for which there is no Apple equivalent so I need something to use with this. Quite honestly, I have found the P12/Windows 10 combination to work well when it works well but is very unstable and often requires re-installing. I think that my best solution is to stay with High Sierra and hope that P12 continues to work with Windows 10. I would also say that almost every time I do an IOS update, there is some problem that results so I don't see much incentive to upgrade from High Sierra.
