When I try to assign more than one processor to PD 8.0 on an 8-core iMac running XP guest, the New Hardware Wizard comes up and says: "There was a problem installing this software: ACPI Multiprocessor PC". The Parallels General Prefs shows 2 CPU's in the dropdown menu, but there's no activity in the second CPU.

When I look in Device Manager/PC/Computer, the only HAL listed is ACPI Uniprocessor PC. From my searches online, I gather there should be a selection of HAL's in this location to choose from. I've tried re-installing Parallels Tools but that didn't help. How can I get past this so I can assign more than one processor to the vm?
