I cannot connect any external hard drive to any of my macOS guest VMs. I tried High Sierra, Monterey, Mojave and Big Sur guest VMs. None of them show my external drive in the Disk Utility, all of them have the same issue. While mounting the same external drive to my Windows (bootcamp) VM is working without a problem. Interestingly the device does show up in the guest macOS in the system profiler, but the hard drive never appears in Disk Utility / Finder / Desktop (see Screenshot). I have had this issue for quite a while already, with Parallels 16, and now I keep having it with Parallels 17. I'm running macOS Big Sur 11.5.1 as host.
