have a Win XP VM that I want to upgrade to Windows 8 using the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade DVD I bought. But the upgrade fails because the disk is too small. I tried increasing (resizing) the size of the HDD from 16GB to 32GB but when I do that, on boot Windows XP reports that the disk is corrupted. So, how can I increase the size of a Win XP VM HD from 16GB to 32GB without that HD becoming corrupted? Without that, I am stuck.
I gave up on this one. I did a full reinstall of a WinXP machine on a bigger HD and upgraded that one to Win8. After that it turned out I had to increase the size of that one as well and that worked. So my conclusion is: Parallels can increase a HD size under Win8 but not under WinXP.
