If my mac is connected to the internet before I launch the Windows XP guest, both the host and guest machines are given an IP address by my router, and I am ale to fileshare between them no problem. However, if I am not connected to the internet, then I cannot get the two machines to see each other at all., even if I try assigning IP addresses manualy. I might not be assigning the IP address to the proper place in the mac, so if manual IP assignment is indeed the solution I need, then please let me know the proper way to do that. Otherwise, I hope someone can help me figure out how to share files between guest and host in situations where I have no internet access. I tried setting up host-only networking according to the directions in the sticky thread, but I couldn't get that working either, so if that's the only solution, please let me know so I can post to that thread.
