I'm running the latest version of Parallels and I have Ubuntu Server 12.04 so just the command line. I also have CentOS 5.9 also just the command line. Both I installed Parallels tools into no problem. Everything works, except I can't copy and paste back and forth at all. I have Windows 8 in a virtual machine and it works perfectly fine. In the virtual machine settings I have enable copy and paste from Mac or whatever the setting it, but copying text on the Mac and pressing Command+V just writes ^V into the virtual machine. Control-V writes the same thing. I've reinstalled Parallels tools but no luck. I've changed the key mapping so that command shift C will paste but same thing.

I have a similar issue under Shortcuts. In a Linux application I use, pressing Alt+K is supposed to bring up the menu. If I press the "alt/option" key on the Mac plus K, it just writes the letter K. So I created a custom shortcut so that Command+K would map to Alt-K but it does the same thing. I tried Shift-K etc but all it does is write the letter K. It's like it completely ignores all keyboard shortcuts. I have a similar problem with trying to switch between open parallels virtual machines. It says the global shortcut is Command `, but pressing that does nothing. Command V in Windows pastes fine and copies etc so I'm at a loss why Linux ignores it?

I have the same problem with Parallels desktop 9 and Centos 6.4, copy and paste are impossible even to leave the windows I must use crtl+alt.
Windows or Ubuntu guest does not have this problem.

Someone from Parallels here to help use out ??

    Thanks

I ran into this same issue. And while I don't have a fix I do have a work around. I installed OpenSSH in Centos and SSH'ed in via Mac Terminal which allows me to copy and paste.

Just an idea and it may not be viable for everyone.
