Greetings. The problem I'm having is that I can't access my XP drives from the Mac side. Everything works fine the other way, and in Shared Folders I have "All Mac Drives" and "All Windows Drives". Is there a way to fix this problem? Thank you.
More information I just reinstalled Parallels, and when I started it I got this message: "The system extension '/Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/fusefs.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used...." Does Parallels require fusefs.kext? I don't seem to have it. Thanks.
Antivirus on Mac OS side may prevent kext installation Disable antivirus perform permissions repair and install macfuse from http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/ Restart Mac OS
I did all of that a couple of times, but I'm still getting the same error. I know MacFuse did install: <KSTicket:0x115580 productID=com.google.filesystems.fusefs version=1.7.1 xc=<KSPathExistenceChecker:0x112d00 path=/> url=http://macfuse.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/CurrentRelease.plist creationDate=2008-09-24 09:55:19 -0600> The MacFuse forum suggested this is a Parallels problem. Is it? Any ideas? Thanks!
Hi, what version of Parallels do you run? The new build of PD (5608) regularely doesn`t have any problems with MacFuse. The previous ones had. http://www.parallels.com/en/download/file/v3/en/GA/Parallels-Desktop-5608-Mac-en.dmg
More info. (I am a recovering PC-aholic and got my first Mac in June. I am learning OS X as I go.) fusefs.kext is there, but it is in a bundle. Does that make a difference?
It is a bundle , as all kexts. I believe some software prevents installation of MacFuse, what software do you have?
Yes, I have iAntiVirus.app, but it is not running. I removed it from the list of programs that start automatically, and I haven't run it since before I installed MacFuse.
Service for antivirus I guess is till running you can check for it in Console application in system.log
The only appearance of "antivirus" I could find were a couple of illegal arguments on 19 Sep in windowserver_last.log. One odd-looking thing is that com.apple.InternetSharing exits immediately with exit code 1 and then restarts again in 10 seconds - repeatedly - but that shouldn't be relevant, should it?
I got rid of the InternetSharing thing. Still no mention of antivirus. I'm pretty sure it isn't running.
