I am unable to uninstall Parallels Tools using the Windows Control Panel. I get the following error: InstallShield Wizard Setup has experienced an error Please do the following: - close any running programs - empty your temporary folder - check your Internet connection (Internet based start ups) Then try to run the setup again. Error code: -6003 Coherence mode stopped functioning for some reason and other threads mentioned unistalling and re-installing Parallels Tools, so I am attempting to do this. I am using a MacBook 2GHz, Core 2 Duo, with 2GB of RAM. The WinXP VM is set to 512MB of RAM in the Parallels setup. Any ideas on how to remove and reinstall Parallels Tools, or how to get Coherence to function again? It was working fine until yesterday. Thanks in advance.
To re-install Parallels Tools: 1. Launch your Windows XP Pro VM. 2. Open Add/Remove programs control panel in Windows and remove Parallels Tools if present. 3. Reboot Windows. 4. Install Parallels Tools using "Install Parallels Tools.." menu item in the Action menu of the Parallels Desktop application. 5. Reboot Windows.
XP will not let me uninstall parallel tools. Gives error "The current version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate." When I try to install parallel tools it gives error that "some component or components could not be installed, contact support". The reason for trying to re-install tools is that coherence does not work.
Follow the same procedure as ksenks posted but try it in safe mode, Pressing fn+f8 during boot up of windows should let you into an advanced booting options screen, Select Safe mode w/ networking, Then follow ksenks directions After reboot Power down virtual machine and boot back into Safe mode to install Tools.
no error message I don't get an error message, but parrallels tools simply doesn't install. I've booted into safe mode and gone into add remove programs and parrallel tools isn't installed. When I try to install it in regular mode or safe mode, nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas?
