Hi, I'm currently considering Parallels 5. I have a friend who uses Snow Leopard + Win7 on Parallel 5 virtual machine and he is having trouble installing software on it. We tried a few software, non of them was successful. Previously, he was using winXP on Bootcamp and all works fine. later, he got his Parallel 5, he installed it and transfers bootcamp to Parallel 5 and it worked without flaw on OSX. So does this mean i would need to partition bootcamp, install windows and software before setting up Parellels 5? Does Parellels 5 support win7? with the win7 on Parellels 5, we cant even access our internal network storage. is this also common? SAM
yes, Parallels 5 supports win7. No, it is not necessary to install bootcamp. if there are problems with non bootcamp VMs - it is better to describe them in separate thread or contact Parallels Support About network - there are number of things 1) Do you have Parallels Tools installed? Network will not work in PD5 without them 2) Try to switch to the Bridged Networking (in the configuration of VM)
