I have been using a USB hard drive successfully with Parallels 5 running Windoze XP Pro for months now. All of the sudden, after going through a HARROWING experience trying to resolve the "Unable to connect to Hard Disk 1" scenario... I can no longer connect my USB hard drive to Windows. I get a ( error 10 ) and the disk cannot mount. Of course it still works perfectly with my Mac. How do I get this drive to work with Parallels again? And, before anyone asks, YES I have tried going to the devices menu and turned on the drive. It adds the check mark but Windoze does not see it and Device Manager will not let me add it. The drive is a LaCie Rugged USB/Firewire drive.
