Cannot connect to the internet in Parallels. Mac side works fine. Have read some of the other threads regarding this issue but nothing seems to work.

On the Mac side, I go into preferences > network > and here's what I see:e:

AirPort (green light) - Airport is connected to the network Apple Network 2bb9c4. You are connect to the internet via AirPort.

Parallels NAT (green light) Parallels NAT is currently active and has the IP address 10.211.55.4

Parallels Host-Guest (red light) The cable for Parallels Host-Guest is s connected, but your computer does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet.

    Any suggestions?

the fix is in the Parallels settings not the MacOS Preferences

    view VM Configuration

mine is Network Adapter 1 ; shared networking

the Mac seems to work as a "virtual router"

In Parallels, I went under the "Devices" drop down, cursored over to Network Adapter 1, and on the menu it shows it as being connected (grayed out with a check mark beside it) and "shared networking" also grayed out with a check mark beside it .

In Parallels, under Preferences > Networking, there is a "Port Forwarding" box at the bottom of the screen. Is there suppose to be something in there?

On that screen I have: Show: Shared Networking, and the DHCP Scope box is checked and there are numbers in those boxes . . . Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.
