    Hi,

I can't get the compressor to work on build 5160. I have removed all of the snapshots and have never used undo disks (hence it is not ticked). I still get the message that I have snapshots or am using undo disks therefore I cannot compact/compress my disk.

I have an urgent problem now since my image has increased to 80 GB whereas it should be 32 GB... and my HDD on the MacBook Pro only has 120 GB in total. I am desperately running out of space.

I checked the other forum postings but could only find a mention that this would be fixed in a future release. When is this going to be released? And is there a temporary workaround?

    Cheers,

    Remco

    Hello,

    try to perform these steps:
    1. Shut down the virtual machine. Click Start and choose Shut Down.
    2. Close Parallels.
    3. Browse to the Applications - Parallels folder and start Parallels Image Tool.
    4. Choose the required virtual hard disk of the virtual machine and choose the "merge snapshots" option. This will take a while.
    5. Delete the snapshot folder and snapshots.xml file located in the virtual machine folder (Documents - Parallels - virtual machine folder - snapshots folder)
    6. Open Parallels and the virtual machine.
    7. Try to compress the virtual disk once again.

    Best Regards,
    Alicia

Windows does not start up after your suggestion

    Hi Alicia,

After merging the images my OS does not start up anymore... I am desperate. What to do now? The Image Explorer also cannot open the image...

    Parallels Image hangs

    Hi Alicia,

There is nothing to screenshot. When I boot, it just hangs.

    Hello,

could you please attach a screenshot of your VM's folder and of 'Show package contents' item of the hdd's right-click menu?

    Best regards,
    Alicia.
