    Hi,

I have a new MAC laptop at work running V1970 Parallels and WinXP and it would be great if I could bring my work home where I have a new MacPro.

If I install the same version of Parallels on my MacPro and point it to a copy of the WinXP .PVS file from my laptop will Parallels run Windows XP properly on my MacPro without having to go through the OS install process?

It would be SO convienient to have a portable OS and data....:D

You need a copy of the .hdd file. Copy them both to a CD and you can keep XP in your pocket. If you had a thumb disk with enough space you could carry XP around on your key chain. Presumably you would also abide by any licensing requirements.

    XP on 2 different machines

So there is no reason or need to run the OS install when installing Parallels as long as you can point Parallels to the copied .VPS and .HDD files? :D
