    Hi,

I have a Mac Mini server running OS X Server Snow Leopard. We need to run a simple Windows app on the server. Can I install Parallels Desktop v5 on OS X Server (Snow Leopard)?

I know there's Parallels Server for the Mac, but really I don't need all that power and given the cost of the Parallels Server for the Mac if that's the only Parallels option then it's going to be far cheaper just to go out and buy a PC.

But I wanted to check whether Parallels Desktop v5 would even install on OS X Server, or whether it would just refuse and tell me to buy Parallels Server.

Afaik you can install and run PD 5 on Mac OS X Server, at least I can't think of any reason why it can't. Strangely the primary OS requirements don't mention the server variant of OS x - maybe the Parallels team can chip in?

The quickest way to find out is to download and install a trial.
