I have been a happy customer / user of Parallels for many years. I always upgrade and have had no complaints.
I recently upgraded to v12 and now everything has changed.
1st complaint. With v11 I could assign more memory to my VM's. v12 has a max of 8gb. This I could have lived with.
2nd complaint. I have always run Parallels on my Desktop and my Laptop. I just tried upgrading my laptop and was told that my license is already activated (on my desktop). Basically, you now want me to purchase another license!. This is a rip off. When I purchase software I should be able to use that software on any machine I choose. I immediately contacted support and have requested a refund. Whoevers bright idea this was will kill this company. Now that Microsoft is open sourcing all key developer resources (SQL server etc) we can run most stuff natively. Even Visual Studio is now available nativity on the Mac. Docker allows us to basically run anything anywhere.
Im now going to use a free alternative. Your greed has lost you a customer... and I don't give a toss what your eula says. You cannot justify the unjustifiable. Pure greed and quite frankly I'm disgusted with this. I sincerely hope this backfires and you lose a load of customers. I for one will never buy an additional license for myself to use.
