I currently use Serial Client to sync my Treo 700p with Quicken running in XP under Parallels. BTW - why doesn't the Mac version of Quicken behave like the windows version?!?!? Back on topic... in order to do the above via Bluetooth, I have to use the Serial Client program that I discovered from other posts on this board. While it is a working solution to my problem, it would be nice if this functionality or something like it was built into Parallels Desktop for Mac so I didn't have to run a separate software utility to do this. I was able to map my bluetooth socket to a com port in MS Virtual PC, and given that Serial Client does it, means to me that it is possible. So I would like to see this functionality built in.
VirtualPC mapped serial ports very well and I would like to see the same capabililty in Parallels. I also use SerialClient and agree with you 100% that it is technically doable and Parallels users should not have to resort to a separate utility.
I absolutely agree with you. We will surely implement this, but i'm just not sure about the timings as we still have a great TODO list.
I'm pleased to hear that Parallels Desktop for Mac is going to have this capabililty in the future. Also, thanks for the prompt feedback. I've been programming professionally for close to 30 years and know all about those ToDo lists. Take one item off and add 5 on!
