I upgraded to Build 3188 from a much older version of Parallels (1848, I think) and now whenever I try to connect a USB storage device of any kind, Windows freezes. There seems to be no way to access a USB storage device from the VM.

I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Core Duo. Mac OS is 10.4.9

I've tried it with autoconnect on and off, same thing. I've tried repairing the disk permissions on the Mac OS using Disk Utility First Aid, no difference.

I sent an e-mail to Paralles support, but no reply...

    Any suggestions?

    Problem fixed

Parallels support sent the following fix, which worked!

    1) Start Windows go to Device Manager and in a brunch Universal Serial
    Bus controllers uninstall all devices.
    2) Shut down your VM.
    3) In VM Configuration delete USB controller and then boot your Windows.
    4) Wait about 10 minutes till Windows finish driver setup.
    5) Shut down Windows.
    6) Add USB controller to your VM configuration and boot Windows again.
