I have not used any beta versions. My installation started with a downloaded trial, then installed from CD when it arrived then upgraded to version 1970. When I go to full screen mode I usually get a message that my version of tools is inconsistent with my version of parallels. When I do a "about parallels tools" on the icon it reports version 1970.....Usually I just clck the close button on the annoying message but why do I get this? I have already tried the normal "install tools" which does the removal, restart, then "install tools" to reinstall...same result...

Parallels Tools doesn't even start for me....

I'm having a similar problem: I'm running XP in Parallels desktop and after upgrading to 1970 the message telling me I should upgrade the tools comes up.

In my case the installation doesn't even start. I can seek a "Parallels Tools setup disk" if I open "My Computer" but nothing ever happens.
