I've been running Parallels for the Mac for about 5 months. The primary OS I run is Windows XP SP2.

Since upgrading to Build 1940 yesterday, I noticed a strange behavior in the screen resolution for my XP image. This is new behavior -- it did not do this until I upgraded to build 1940.

Start Parallels, which autostarts my WinXP image, in full screen mode.
Windows starts in 640x480 mode *THIS IS THE NEW, BAD BEHAVIOR *
Login screen is shown at 640x480 --> it used to switch to 1440 x 900 after boot up, which is fullscreen on my MacBook Pro.
    Log into Windows.
In a few seconds, the resolution switches to 1440x900. However, Windows has already detected that it started in 640x480 and displays the prompt that I should switch to a higher resolution.

What I would expect is the old behavior: immediately after boot, the screen resolution immediately switches to 1440x900.

Is there a new setting I am not aware of or is this a bug?

    screen rez - me too

I have the same issue, it's really annoying. It worked great in build 1920.

I can't even install tools in build 1940, it crashes the Parallels VM and Windows.

    iMac 20 - 1GB mem.

All else works OK, speed is aout the same, I think.

OK 3rd time ws the charm. After trying to install Parallel Tools the first time, the VM shutdown as did WIndows, almost immediately.

The second time, it actuallty started running the install shield in windows, got through to the video driers I guess, and went black for about 1-2 minutes, but was still running. The HDD light was flickering orange once in a while, so I left it alone to do it's thing. After that 1-2 minutes, it blue screened on me and shut down.

Restarted windows, and now a few tools work, like mouse sync, but no shared folder and the screen rez problem continued when switching from full to windowed.

Tried tools install a 3rd time, de-selected mouse sync and time sync and network driver since they seemed to be working OK. finished it's install that time including the video driver. Restarted windows and behold - it all works now. Video rez is where I set it in windowed mode and it switches to fullscreen hi-rez mode and back again to where it was sset in windowed mode. Shared folder is now working, too, although first time acessing it took about 30-45 seconds, but instant after that first time.

I guess, just don't give up?
