Well, at least this stuff is consistent build-to-build. I've installed 1910, and restarted after the initial install (upgrade over 1908). And, during that first restart, everything worked well: the VM started (I still had to sleep to get VT-x support working), and XP started up and ran. So, I restarted again to test what would happen. And now, I can't get Parallels to start, ever, without locking up the system. As before, the mouse basically stops moving. As before, "general" screen updates continue to work. As an additional bit of info, as I've mentioned before, the disk stops working for any application: activity monitor clearly shows that disk I/O is 0 in and out, even while processes continue to run. Any time a process tries to hit the disk, it blocks and stops. Parallels, in activity monitor, stops responding (as you'd expect). I had Console open, and the last bit in the system.log (before the system log stops being able to be written) is two entries that indicate that the CPUs were successfully "rescheduled". However, that can't be seen after reboot, since it never gets flushed to disk. Reinstalling 1910 does not allow it to work one time. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't either.
