Okay, I understand not everyone is going to have this problem. However, doing this upgrade hosed me over big time. Upon booting a Windows XP VM, my machine would no longer recognize ANY keyboard actions and would not recognize any mouse clicks.

Basically, both the host and VM were running along just fine. The mouse pointer would move around, alerts would pop-up, reminders would show, the clock would tick away, etc. However, I had no control over it. In the end, I had no choice but to hard reset my Mac. Of course, this hosed my VM and I had to recover from a backup. No matter how many times I tried, I could not boot into the VM and maintain control over my WHOLE machine (host and VM) for more than about 2 minutes.

Of course, I opened a ticket (1030420). . I asked for a link to download the build prior to 11826. Instead, I got my time wasted thoroughly by a service team that apparently can't read. In my ticket I thoroughly explained the problem. Despite this, I got told to boot the VM and uninstall and reinstall Parallels Tools. Ummm.... Hello??? How can I do that with no keyboard and mouse control?

In the end, I solved the problem myself. I found build 11822 in my Downloads folder. Guess what, installing it solved the problem.

    Censored?

My original post seems to have been modified or not processed properly? Hmm...

Here is the rest of it.

NOTE : I'm sorry for the sarcasm here. However, I've been a Parallels user for years now and am sick of the problems. I'd be a lot happier if I didn't have to fight the failed installation of Parallels Tools EVERY SINGLE SOFTWARE UPDATE!!! Why can't your team get this solved properly once and for all? I'd be a lot happy if it didn't take 3 or 4 days to get 2 (count them 2) emails about working out a problem. I'd be even happier if someone there actually bothered to READ the email and understand the problem.

NOTE : In the last few days, I even paid $10 to "upgrade" to VmWare Fusion 3. I liked it. Except for one little problem. It couldn't switch between Shared and Bridge networking without rebooting. Most times, Bridged networking did not work at all. So, I am stuck with Parallels.

I sure hope the majority of the Parallels users aren't having trouble and receive good service. However, I'd really like it if someone at Parallels would take support seriously and stop jerking around the users that are having trouble.
