Bridged Network over Wireless (Host: XP, Guest: Linux)
Sorry if this is a daft question, I'm struggling to know where to look to solve the problem
I've got new registered PW running happily on XP
I've got Ubuntu 6.0.6, Solaris 10 guest OS'es installed and running no problems.
Ubuntu connects to the outside world just great with static IP config using my XP's WPA-PSK link to my router via wireless
Similarly it connects great with dhcp if i have a network cable plugged into the laptop to the router
Solaris displays similar behaviour but i have not checked as thoroughly.
But I can't get the guest OS to converse via DHCP over Wireless to the router which is what i really want. My router is a linksys and a bit rubbish so i can't really tell what is going on (no logs) and i'm not sure where to start looking. I use my laptop and the same disk image in multiple locations and so dhcp is essential unless i want a lot of faffing about each time.
I don't have restricted access on the router, and as I understand it XP handles the WPA-PSK stuff which should make it a straightforward connection from ubuntu
Any ideas? Have i missed something obvious? Is this potentially some sort of router issues (2x dhcp connections from the same box?)
Ta, Aitch
