I am running Parallels Desktop 15 under Mojave on my iMac.

Recently Windows 10 tried to install an update. A restart was required to complete the update.

Bootcamp is stuck in a loop - attempting to recover previous installation/restarting your previous version of Windows.

    Any suggestions?

Hello, did you try to reset your VM?
Also could you provide us with the error message that you've got please?

I did not try to reset VM. I did not get an error message. At startup Windows kept looping with a black screen and the repeated message "attempting to recover previous installation/restarting your previous version of Windows".

I recovered by removing Bootcamp and reinstalling Bootcamp and Windows. I didn't want to do this since I lost my applications and had to reinstall them.

Thanks for the reply and the tip about how to reset the VM.

Press and hold the Options key (apple) or Alt key (windows) while simultaneously powering on the mac by pressing on the power button Continue to hold the Options/Alt key until the mac has fully booted. Hopefully, you will be presented with a boot menu asking you whether you would like to boot in Mac OS or Windows.

I tried this, but Window still kept looping and never opened.

Do you have access to a second Mac system? If you do try connecting your system via a FireWire cable and starting up your system in Target Mode. Once you get there run Disk Utility form the other system to test out your HD. Let us know what you find.

I'm up and running now. I removed bootcamp and reinstalled bootcamp and windows.
