I have been struggling with parallels consuming 20% of my Macbook Pro's CPU even when nothing is happening in my Windows 7 guest OS. As part of my quest to find any processes running in Windows that are not needed, I noticed that I still have a Bootcamp.exe process running even though I converted my Bootcamp partition to a Parallels VM (I don't use bootcamp anymore).

Is Bootcamp.exe necessary if I am no longer using a bootcamp partition? If not, how do I get rid of it?
