    Hey all,

I would just like to share my own experience of having Bootcamp as well as Parallel v2.5 installed on my Mac Book Pro. I did not upgrade to v3.0 due to that many people seem to have problems with v3.0 because it is still new and the bugs are still being worked out. So once that is resolved, I hope to upgrade my v2.5. Since, I was unable to play games on Parallel v2.5, I have decided to give Bootcamp a try. Since I've read many reviews on how video games work so much better on Bootcamp and people suggested that its better to run such things like MS Office on Parallels and keep your gaming needs on Bootcamp. Currently, I have Apple Bootcamp Beta 1.3 installed. Installation was easy. I did not encounter any problems, which is good. I did not have to download any updates because I previously installed them. So installation was smooth and easy. After following, all the necessary steps of installation. Windows XP was up and running smoothly. Once Windows XP was up, I inserted the Mac Driver CD that was created during installation so my devices may be recongized. That took about 10 mins or so. After that I was asked to reboot and again no trouble with Windows XP installing. Now time for activation. This is where I had a problem. I already had Windows XP installed on Parallels and I assumed that I was able to use the same Product Key and was proven wrong. So after numerous searches on how to obtain a Product Key I decided to call Microsoft to obtain one. I explained my situation that I am using it on one laptop but they said I had to purchase another product key at retail value ($184) but I guess they didn't understand me well when I explained the situation. So, there are ways to obtain a free one. I am still searching on how to obtain another product key without purchasing another. If anyone knows let me know. So, I decided to use the 30 day trial period until I come across on how to figure that out. I downloaded my Guild Wars game. It ran perfectly. Graphics is nice and loaded pretty fast. So if anyone is wondering, in my opinion I would say keep parallels for business needs and bootcamp for gaming needs. It works well and so far has not given me any problems except the product key activation. Everything on bootcamp seems to run pretty smoothly. So no complaints for me yet. I guess the only thing annoying is to boot to go to mac os x when you really need to use it but that doesn't really bother me. I hope this helps anyone who is debating on bootcamp and parallel. I say use BOTH. hehe. But that's just me. And If anyone has any suggestion about the product key, please let me know I appreciate it alot. Thanks :D
