    hey.

    i have a strange problem. i got a mac pro with win xp via boot camp installed. that works well and stable.

    but if i access that working boot camp partition via parallels, nearly none of the previously installed drivers seem to be there. no video card installed, no audio card and so on.

    i read the manual and about 100 threads about that topic but nothing really helped me with that issue. i took several attemps to get a proper installation, defined different hardware and boot profiles and so on. NOTHING WORKS.

    so i start to ask myself, if that's normal? is it normal not to have the right video card installed when opening windows via parallels? all drivers should be working, as with boot camp, but they seem to be inactive with parallels.

    It would be really cool if someone could help me with that issue, i'm starting to get crazy after 2 days of desperation.

    thanks,
    ash.

    mac pro 2 x 2.8 ghz quad
    500 gb hdd
    2 gb ram
    win xp via boot camp (ntfs formatted)
    osx leopard
    parallels 3.0 build 5584

    Try going 'Actions->Install Parallels Tools'.

    i already found that out in the meantime, but thanks for the reply.
    i still had my leopard install dvd in my cd-drive when it came to install parallels tools which i was installing from a file. so it opend the boot camp driver installation instead of the parallels tools installation.
    took me some time to figure that out and to find the parallels tools cd image in the libraries folder to mount it manually.
    well, now it works fine.
