Hi all! I'm running Windows XP Home on a Mac Pro via Parallels Desktop 6. I have copied and pasted a file from the Documents folder on the Mac to Windows' desktop. Then I have deleted the file in Windows, making a mistake. I have looked in the REcycle Bin to restore the file, but I have failed to find it. The file was an ISO file of about 2.4 Gb. Do you know where I can find the deleted file? Thanks for any help you will provide!
It is not clear - might appear that it actually has located physically at the Mac Desktop - then you need to look at Mac Trash. Do you have Windows and Mac Desktops shared? can you see derived icons of both desktops?
first of all, thanks for your reply.. I have already checked Mac trash, but the file is not in.. And about your question: yes, I can see derived icons on both desktops - so I suppose to have shared desktops.. my suspicion: large file (> 1 Gb?) do not pass through the recycle bin, so my file has been directly and permanently erased, even though I would expect to receive an alert in the case - which I did not actually get..
You are right, the alert should appear and this is what usually happens. I suggest you to try it again (put some file on the Desktop and check if behaviour is the same) if the issue reoccurs - please report it to Parallels support team at www.parallels.com/support and put a note here as well
