In the last 24 hours since installing Beta5, I've had 5 kernel panics on my MacBookPro, 1G RAM, OS X 10.4.6, WinXP SP2. This last one took out my finder and I had to reset all my preferences for dirve mappings, fonts, views, etc. File system checked good (that's the good news), but something is not right with Beta5. My next option is to disable the Shared Folders function and see if that clears it up. I can not reproduce the cause of the panics. I can reprodce one error related to the Compactor Beta though. I ran the compactor and it went through both processes, then reported via OSX that it completed successfully. When I clicked OK on that dialog, about 3 seconds later the PW creashed, then a dialog poped up stating an invalid APIcall (I think is was error 217, but the text file I was writing this in got damaged a minute later when the system kernel panic'd.). Just after that error, I quit Parallels and went to eject a drive image and had another kernel panic.
