As suggested, I updated Parallels tools in Beta 6 and I got 2 errors while running it. 1) a message asking me for XP CD. I inserted XP CD and it did not find the file. message: The file 'i8042prt.sys' on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 CD is needed. 2) another message was telling me that the "to be installed" file pcitg.sys is older than current one. Congratulations to Parallels team, outsanding work! Luca
I got the same message about the pcitg.sys file but not the first message you mentioned. I thought about it for a while and then decided to use the older version, assuming that was the intention. If I see any extra odd behavior I will reply to this thread, though I have no idea what odd behavior might be attributed to the pcitg.sys file...
Instead of sticking in the disc, drill down to WINDOWS (or WINNT) dirctory "C:/WINNT/system32/drivers" and you should find the driver in there.
