Unscientific benchmark to let you know how kick *&@ this product is. (And it is still in BETA!!!)

    D#@* P4 2.0ghz with 1gb of RAM running XP SP2
MacBook Pro 2.0ghz with 2gb of RAM - 1gb allocated to virtualization W2k. (I didn't have another XP license that I could use)

Visual Basic project that grabs a 59Meg text file (475,000+ lines of text), parses it out into approx 23k db records.

Parallels does the job in 1 minute 29 seconds.
PC does it in 3 minutes 32 seconds - exact same code, exact same db.....

Now I was hoping that by running my development environment on a Mac wouldn't cost me time, but having it run 2 1/2 time FASTER than my PC desktop just blew me away! Please don't dwell on the fact that a better code writer could do the job in under 50 seconds - look at the performance of the Paralles virtualization solution.

I tried to make sure I was comparing apples to apples (tiny pun intended) and have nothing to gain by scewing the data... Just wanted to share my experience with this product.
