Just wanted to share a success and give everyone out there some food for thought. Every night, I backup (using MacOS's "Backup" app) the Winxp.pvs file to a backup hard drive. This morning, my Parallels Winxp was majorly screwed up -- just looped and looped around, trying to restart over and over, with a screen that would flash by very fast that said something like "disk corrupted" but it was too fast to really get any useful data. I only use the "dark side" for my Realtor related work, so there aren't too many docs over there, but there is a fair number of apps installed, so I was dreading having to install the whole shebang over again. Instead I restored the winxp.pvs file from backup from the day before yesterday to a separate location, used parallels to create a new virtual operating system, then pointed it at the restored from backup copy and "voila!" I had my complete, functional system again. Many thanks to Parallels for such a cool product and many thanks to Apple for a Backup system that is so easy to use. Hope everyone out there takes a clue from this and starts backing up those winxp.pvs files right now!!! This saved me at least 6 hours of computer baby sitting while I installed every thing over again.
