I have had problems upgrading the firmware of my Mac Pro to 1.1. I have followed all the suggestions from Apple - including uninstalling Parallels. Now they have suggested I erase/reinstall OSX from the disks that came with the computer.
How do I save my Parallels virtual machine? I don't want to have to reinstall Parallels from disk, reinstall Windows XP, then reinstall all the software on my virtual machine. I would also need to back up all my Documents on my VM. This would be a major pain as Dragon Naturally speaking 9 is on this computer and this is an upgrade, so to reinstall it I have to start with 8.....

    This seems drastic. Help!

if you are not using bootcamp, then your virtual hard drive (.hdd) will be in ~/Library/Parallels or ~/Documents/Parallels

Just copy it and the PVS file to another hard disk.
