There are six CDs that I like to automount on virtual CDRoms in Windows XP. Normally I use Daemon Tools to mount these. Under Parallels Desktop on my Mac Pro, I can mount all six, but when I reboot Windows, I have to remount them. I have automount checked. The same thing happens with PowerISO. I know I can attach an ISO image to a CD device directly in Parallels and that works, but I can only mount 2, since one of the IDE ports is taken up by the hard drive and one by the real DVD reader/writer. Does anyone know if it is possible to get around this? Is there any other software that might give me at least 6 virtual cdroms that will automount? Thanks. Peace, BJ
Hello, please open the 'Configuration Editor' of your VM ('Edit' -> 'Virtual Machine'), there you should click 'Add...' and select 'CD/DVD-Rom' and specify the path to the .iso image. Best regards, Stacey
Hi, Thank you for your answer. I had already tried creating CD/DVD-Rom drives. Since my real drive takes up one IDE port and my hard drive takes up a second IDE port, that only leaves 2 left for creating CD/DVD-Rom drives. After that, I no longer have the option add more. Is there something I'm overlooking? Thanks. Peace, BJ
Hello, unfortunately, it is a designed limitation of IDE port. Do you need all six CDs to be mounted at the same time? Did you try to use other third-parties software, like Alcohol? Best regards, Stacey
