I have attempted to upgrade to the latest version. (ParallelsDesktop-9.0.24217.979618)

The install stops part way through at the "removing the previous version" point. There is no progress and the only way I can get control back is to force quit the application. I have waited over an hour for this to conclude and whilst waiting upgraded the application on my laptop without any issues.

CPU cycles up towards 100% and lsregister seems to be a culprit. I think there is a fault in this installer build for my type of machine. All previous build have installed successfully

Would anyone know a mechanism to completely uninstall and reinstall clean. I ask this as each time I attempt to reinstall (after a time machine recovery from the previous day) I get into the same loop after a prompted upgrade with a stall at the 'removing previous versions' bit.

I saw a 'suspending' window at the time of the prompted update and then the install continued happily on the Mac (iMac 27" 16Gb 10.9.2) This hasnt been a problem in the past as the installer takes care of such matters.

No obvious and easyway to fix (at least to me) ... tried 5 times so far. Same failure point.

A reboot resolves the CPU cycle issue and removing/renaming the Library|Preferences|Parallels Folder didnt work either - This was me hoping that a new install would completely rebuild the install then from scratch... Nope, that failed too.

What next? I am missing my PC... a little bit, but not a lot ;)...... But I do have to use it daily 8(

Many thanks in anticipation of help from someone smarter than I
