As if the image doesn't save

Each time I reboot my Windows Image it's as if the previous changes weren't saved. All my desktop icons are replaced to a previous state several weeks ago.

If I open the Windows Image from a suspended state, the Parallel Tools installer is started. If I install the tools or if I don't doesn't matter. Next time that I start the image (reboot or suspended) I'm again presented with the Parallel Tools installer.

Same for the Windows updates. If I install them. Next time I'm again presented with the same updates to be installed.

What's happening?
And how can this be corrected?

I am using build 3186.

Hi,
I was logged in as an admin.

I solved the problem by closing Parallels and removing all the Parallels files that are linked to the image except the image itself.

I then recreated a virtual machine with the image file.

Problem solved.
