I have Windows XP running under Parallels on my Mac Pro and have carefully installed, configured, and fine tuned the applications I run there and installed the never ending string of patches from Microsoft. This takes a lot of time and effort.

I have purchased a second Parallels license for my MacBook Pro notebook computer. I want to set up an exact duplicate of what I have installed on my primary machine on the notebook. Can I simply copy the VM folder to the other machine and expect it to run without problems? I have an additional license for Windows XP, but will I need to somehow register that authorization in the second install?

Has anybody actually tried doing this?

    Thanks,
    Howard

    hi,
    1. About copying VM folder to another machine: yes you can do that without any problems
    2. About guest Windows registering i think you must consult with guest OS provider in other words with Microsoft
