Moved from "How to"
I would like to use Parallels to host a FreeBSD VM for developing our website. (FreeBSD is the OS on our live servers.)
This works great in Host-Only mode. I can just log into the IP address assigned by Parallels to the guest-host adapter (en2). I can then share my Airport or Built-In Ethernet connection with en2 to give network access to the VM.
However, when I log into my company's Cisco VPN, I can't share my network connection any longer. I can access the VPN network from the VM if I use Shared Networking, but then I can't hit the VM from the host OS, which makes it pretty much useless. (The whole point is to be able to develop locally from my Mac without going over a network hop.)
My goal:
Be able to SSH into the VM.
The VM has network access.
The VM has access to the Cisco VPN.
Is this possible? Thanks.
