What does anyone recomend ,for antivirus software to be run on the remote site client pc's?

We currently have Trend Micro, but it has major issues with 2x.

    What is everyone else using?

We use trend at multiple sites

    Hey there,
I am curious about your issues. We run Trend across our enterprise and other networks, many with 2x, and thus far have seen no impact.

On the other hand, we are also a TrendMicro Partner and have been using their products for almost a decade.... This week we bagan a shift to Sophos mainly because we feel Trend product quality has plummeted and reliability is terribly poor. We chose Sophos over the other competitors after extensive research that included customer service, purchasing and order processing, and of course overall function.

I would strongly recommend Sophos on account of many issues with Trend; yet conflicts with 2x were not one of them.

    Hope it helps.

When we were running the 2x client, it would act extremely slow. It would scramble letters typed onto the screen. All problems were fixed when we removed the trend client.

Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security Advanced
    Version: 5.1
    Build: 1142

It was strange how it transposed numbers. I could come up with a citrix\trend issue that was similar, but we are using versions well above those listed as fixes.

    trend...

I'll keep an eye on it on our side. I have not seen that behavior, we use the same products on both servers and clients.

Perhaps you can exclude all the 2x stuff using the admin console. It's buried away, you would have to loginto https://servername:4343/smb , and then find your server, and then go to Configuration, and exclusions are buried away in there.

Albeit, I found that our Windows 2008 terminal server, via 2x from MAC OSX, is very very slow. I am going to take your suggestion and remove the trendmicro client from the server itself, just to see if it has an impact.

If you are looking for change, as I mentioned prior, I've been very pleased with Sophos thus far. We have not done a full round of testing to see how it will affect our terminal servers and clients, but that's currently a minor issue; our reasons for dropping TrendMicro could probably be used to write a book.
